Today is November 30th. Already.
In the blink of an eye, the summer just buzzed right by me. Was it 5 long months ago that we took Oakley to the beach for the first time and Joshie was doing archery?
Then swooped in my favorite season, Autumn. Out came our orange storage bins filled with autumn decor and pumpkin carving tools.
Alex started college, Joshie started high school, and I started my Hallmark channel binging.
Fall Harvest and Countdown to Christmas. Is there anything else more relaxing to have on as background noise while you go about your day? My work days are filled with conflict and problem solving so I appreciate the simple stories (do you think they’ll end up together?) and happy endings (yay, they did!). And the shows are clean. Not easy to find these days.
Walks. Stepping on crunchy leaves on cool days is high on my happy-list.
This October, though, we had to say a sad goodbye to one of our canines. Gretel lived to be 17 years old. She spent her last day with lots of love and attention, walking around in her backyard, and eating people food. These are our first holidays without her.
Thanksgiving weekend is when we set up for Christmas.
So far, Oakley has not knocked the tree down yet, but there might have been a couple of ornaments that were held hostage in his jaws.
When do you traditionally put up your tree? Are you planning on going elbow to elbow to purchase your gifts? Not me. I like to Amazon-it. I Amazon everything I possibly can because crowded parking lots and long lines are high on my grumpy-list. I try to avoid things on my grumpy-list. My husband says it’s best that I do. 🙂
